Turks Head Jugglers!

WHERE CAN I BUY A NIFTY DIABOLO/SET-OF-BALLS/RINGS/CLUBS?

Juggling equipment is like most other leisure-time paraphernalia: it's fairly easy to find mediocre equipment, and a little harder to find the really good stuff.

No matter where you are right now, the chances of there being a really good juggling equipment store in a 50-mile radius is practically nil. There used to be an excellent store in Washington DC, but alas -- no more.

SO, WHAT DO I DO TO GET JUGGLING STUFF?

The "Juggling for the Complete Klutz" book and 3-ball kit is available at most good book stores and very good toy stores. The balls are fine (if strange looking -- they're cubes), and the directions in the book are pretty much spot-on. Reasonable price, good investment.

You may find other juggling ball kits and cheap diabolos and/or flower stick sets at Zany Brainy or similar "Discovery"-type stores. The stuff is usually mediocre, but reasonably priced. If you just want to experiment, or have heavy restrictions on your budget, these packages will get you going. But don't confuse them with good juggling equipment. Read on...

SO, WHERE DO I GO TO GET GOOD JUGGLING STUFF?

There's a considerable number of places to buy really good juggling equipment, but it will be from a website or across the telephone. Expect to pay an extra 15% to 100% for the equipment compared to the so-so stuff you might find in a shopping mall, but it will be durable, easier to use, well-balanced, and long-lived. Since these are things you buy to throw around and drop a lot, going this route is a good idea.

You might start at the juggling.org website (never a bad idea...) then visit the "Jugglers Mall" section. Click here to check it out. If you already know the names and locations of the companies you want to visit on the web, this is a sensible place to start. If you don't, read on...

Brian Dube makes professional-quality equipment which is personally tested by some of the best jugglers in the world. His standard delivery is practically overnight. It's hard to go wrong with Dube. Click here to visit Brian.

Serious Juggling handles Dube equipment plus a number of other vendors. Ben Schoenberg, who runs the place, is a superb juggler who is ready to share his experience and advice in making purchases. His toll-free number is 1.800.JUGGLE0 (that's a zero at the end...). Click here to visit Ben's site.

The Juggling Arts carries a remarkable collection of unusual juggling, spinning, and balancing equipment -- some normal stuff and some unique things. It's may be the best place to go to for your new ball manipulation mouthpiece, your replacement head pedestal, or a nice new Kendama. Need a Chelgwegoooot? They've got 'em. (No, I didn't make that up, and I didn't misspell "Chelgwegoooot.") Click here to visit with them.

Flower Sticks (sometimes incorrectly identified as Devil Sticks -- which are much faster and more difficult) can be purchased in a lot of places. Unfortunately, most of them are mediocre to poor in quality, and that means they are difficult and frustrating to use. My own personal favorites are fiberglass Lunastix, which are easy and fun to use, really pretty to look at, and amazingly durable. Lunastix has a great website, which you can get to simply byyyy.... clicking right here.
